Located at the Százhalombatta industrial park, this hazmat site had to be extended with a new storage building, meanwhile the underground tank system – also a current installation - was fitted with various service structures and facilities. The assignment also entailed the design of an unloading station for tanker trailers, as well as the modification of related service roads. Given the technology required for the handling of extremely flammable and explosive liquids, the extensive underground work and the limited space available, the project represented a complex engineering challenge and an elaborate permit process thereafter. Unfortunately, the new surface facilities and the storage tank area, encompassing no more than 2,000 and 1,000 sq m, respectively, are being constructed in multiple stages, even though these should to be brought up simultaneously. Phase 1 was completed by the end of 2019.
