Family house, Budapest XXII. district
Completed
2010
This project involved the gut renovation and minor extension of a 250 sq m detached family house that was built in 1999. After lengthy consultations concerning the key concept – which was followed by a laborious permit process due to the nature of local zoning regulations – came to a similarly outstretched implementation phase, the result of which, however, was a four-bedroom house of superior quality both in terms of overall aesthetics and the building mechanicals employed. A combination of heat pumps, solar panels, and a natural gas boiler provides the energy required for heating and cooling, which is emitted solely through the walls and floors – meaning there is no visible heating or cooling equipment inside the house.
