Family house, Göd
Completed
2005
On a 600-sq-m plot, we have created a 200 sqm floor space house with a Mediterranean touch that features natural materials and inspiring spaces for each family member. Auspicious characteristics of the property allowed the realisation of a building that consists of a semi basement with a double garage, a ground floor and an attic level. Although it nearly reaches the maximum height of 4.5 m, the designed building remains below the effective development limit. The house itself was pulled back towards the steep descent parallel to the street, resulting in the garage level being partially sunk underground. The building was designed in a way that the guttering and cornices above the sloping-then-flat ground generally appear at the same height throughout. The lengthwise wall slicing the house is a boundary both in terms of function and mass distribution: east of the wall are private premises, all grouped in a pedimented, two-story mass underneath a saddleback roof, whereas the western section comprises social spaces under an elongated semi-roof slanting towards the garden. I created all general building plans and interior designs and was also in charge of site supervision during the implementation phase.
