Attic apartment conversion, Budapest, II. district
Completed
2009

The task was the complete remodeling of a duplex apartment, situated in the mansard roof of a villa in Buda. The project included the modernization of building mechanicals and called for interior- and furniture design as well. The key to all intervention was a so-called sun trap that was placed over the dark hall, thereby allowing for the spatial rearrangement of the kitchen, dining- and living rooms. In addition to general architecture, I was also tasked with interior and furniture design as well. Inspired by the romanticism of loft conversions and some of the owners’ Art Deco furniture, the project retained the original layout of the unit.
